OMG…it’s officially summer time! If you’re like me, you love spending your summer gathering with family and friends for backyard barbeques. There’s always lots of delicious food to enjoy, but that sometimes causes stomach aches which can be a real party crasher. Spearmint has been used for centuries for its digestive benefits and dōTERRA Spearmint is one essential oil I grab for the occasional stomach upset.* I just dilute one drop of Spearmint oil in 4 ounces of liquid and drink (not to mention that Spearmint water is pure delight, stomach ache or not!).
In addition to a happy tummy, I love to cool off with dōTERRA Spearmint oil. Its sweet, refreshing aroma is cleansing and uplifting. Spearmint is different from Peppermint, and is a milder option to use on children and those with sensitive skin. You could even apply a drop to your toothbrush before brushing for fresh breath! But I have to say, my favorite way to use Spearmint is diffusing it with citrus oils – specifically Wild Orange. The aroma is clean, fresh and a super uplifting! To me, it is one of my very favorite blends to diffuse in the afternoon when I need a little pick-me-up!
Spearmint is also great for use in the kitchen! Try it in a salad as part of a homemade dressing, a Spearmint julep, or any of your favorite desserts. Spearmint also makes for a great addition to any meat marinade recipe. For your next backyard barbeque, bake up a batch of these delicious Spearmint Chocolate Chip Cookies.
